Peer Reviewer Process
The peer review process is an essential component in maintaining the quality and integrity of research published in the Journal of Da’wah Management and Communication Science. This rigorous review system is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors in improving their manuscripts while ensuring the publication of high-quality scholarly work.
Manuscript Submission
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts electronically through the journal’s online submission system. Upon submission, the manuscript will be assigned to the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor for an initial evaluation.
Initial Editorial Assessment
The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor evaluates the manuscript based on its relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards or fall outside the journal’s scope may be rejected at this stage (desk rejection).
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial assessment are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence, professional experience, and the absence of any conflicts of interest.
Review Process
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within a specified period, generally within 3–4 weeks. Manuscripts are assessed based on the following criteria:
- Originality and significance of the research
- Methodological rigor
- Clarity and coherence of presentation
- Relevance and adequacy of references
- Contribution to the field of study
Reviewer Reports
Reviewers provide detailed evaluation reports containing comments and suggestions for the authors, as well as confidential recommendations for the editors. The possible recommendations include:
- Accepted
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Rejected
Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor considers the reviewers’ recommendations before making the final editorial decision. Possible decisions include:
- Accepted: The manuscript is accepted without revisions.
- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor improvements, and the revised version will be evaluated by the editor.
- Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may be re-evaluated by the same or additional reviewers.
- Rejected: The manuscript is considered unsuitable for publication in the journal.
Revision Process
If revisions are required, authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe, generally within 4–6 weeks.
Final Decision
Revised manuscripts will be reviewed by the editor and, if necessary, by the reviewers. The editor will then make the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection. Accepted manuscripts will proceed to the production stage.
Production and Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading processes. Authors are provided with an opportunity to review the final proofs before publication. Once finalized, the article will be published online and made freely accessible to the public.
Confidentiality and Transparency
All submitted manuscripts and review processes are treated with strict confidentiality. Reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors in a single-blind review process unless the journal implements a double-blind review system, where both author and reviewer identities remain anonymous. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency throughout the review process and adhering to all applicable publication ethics standards.
