Transformasi Pemikiran MUI Dan FKUB Di Era Digital: Antara Otoritas Keagamaan Dan Dialog Sosial
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the dynamics of thought, shifting institutional roles, and the intersections and differences in paradigms between the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Forum for Religious Development (FKUB) in managing religious life in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with library research, the data were analyzed descriptively and analytically, emphasizing historical, sociological, and institutional aspects. The results indicate a role transformation: the MUI shifted from an accommodating partner to an independent religious authority, while the FKUB focused on interfaith dialogue and conflict mediation. Both institutions are committed to maintaining stability, but differ epistemologically: the MUI uses a normative-theological approach to maintain orthodoxy, while the FKUB employs a dialogical-sociological approach. The originality of this research lies in its in-depth comparative study that juxtaposes the dualism of normative versus dialogical approaches of the two institutions, while also formulating the urgent need for synergy in communication strategies and institutional adaptation to address the challenges of fragmentation of religious authority, social polarization, and echo chambers in the contemporary digital era.
